Horse Whispers Fundraising Campaign
Tax ID#88-4320339
The Horse Whispers barn is a healing space that fosters growth, community and connection in all participants. We facilitate positive experiences, allowing feedback between the horses and humans. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Make a tax deductible donation using the boxes below to support the ongoing care of the horses and facilities.

Current Projects:

Pasture Fencing

Approximate Cost: $5000

Description: The pasture we use is fenced with barbed wire. One of our horses was badly injured recently when she cut her leg on the barbed wire. Fortunately, she was able to be stitched up, but the injury has impacted her ability to be ridden. We need to replace all of the barbed wire in the pasture areas with safe, adequate fencing.

Paddock Roofing and Siding

Approximate Cost: $7500 total - $5000 roof, $2500 siding

Description: The paddock where our horses live is roofed with old, previously used corrugated panels. There are holes in the roof above where the hay is stored, causing the hay to get wet when it rains. This can cause the hay to mold, rendering it unsafe to feed to the horses.
The siding in the paddocks has become rusted on the bottom, causing sharp, jagged edges that pose a danger to the horses. The siding needs to be replaced to avoid the horses getting cut on their ankles and legs.

Electrical Connection to the Tack Room and Arena Area

Approximate Cost: $5000

Description: When one of our horses got hurt recently, we had to have an emergency vet visit to get her leg sewn up. Because there is no electricity where the horses live, it was challenging to get adequate lighting. There is a power pole right next to the paddock, tack room, and arena area. For PGE to come and add electrical service to this area, the minimum cost is $3500, with additional costs to get power to the property.

Arena Wall Stabilization and Beautification

Approximate Cost: $10,000

Description: As our facility is on a hill, the arena has a dirt wall that lacks a wall to stabilise the dirt on the hill. The project consists of building a terraced support system with pavers, a small deck and gazebo for a viewing area of the arena, irrigation for plants along the terraced wall, and plants to beautify the space.

Driveway/Parking Space Paving

Approximate Cost: TBD

Description: The driveway/parking area for guests has been neglected for many years and is damaged. The gravel and broken roadway get washed out in heavy rains, and the pitted area can be a tripping hazard, especially for people with mobility challenges. Repaving the area would eliminate safety issues and contribute to the beautification of the area.
