Our Mission
At Horse Whispers we connect system involved youth in San Benito, Santa Cruz, and Monterey Counties to the healing power of horses.
The Horse Whispers barn is a healing space that fosters growth, community and connection in all participants. We are a non-profit that facilitates positive experiences that allow the feedback from the horses to be heard by humans. We believe that our equine partners have much to teach us about being present and aware of the energy we carry.
When we go to the barn to be with horses we are invited to slow down our busy lives and be more present. The outdoor experience allows us to recalibrate our pace and honor our animal instincts so we can attune more closely to the natural cycles of the earth.
Horse Whispers aims to heal people and the planet using the knowledge and wisdom of both nature and our equine family.

Our role is to support our most vulnerable youth to become the best they can be!
Our Human TeamOur team of volunteers makes it all possible. |
Our Herd
Jackson
Jackson loves kids! He is the herd leader, he is looking out for the other horses but he looks out for us too. He was born a twin!
|
Tessa
Tessa is our oldest horse, she is a 21 year old, but she is still young at heart! She works hard and is ever so gentle with the kids.
|
Rio Rojo
Rio is a steady guy. He is kind and gentle. He is also a gaited horse so he is smoother for those beginners who are just learning to sit a trot.
